Porsche 944 Cylinder Head Service.

This service came about towards the middle of 2008. I figured with the

Number of 944 drivers out there that often have a timing belt failure, there was

A need for a shop to supply quality rebuilt cylinder heads at an affordable price.

Now, instead of tracking down a used head, buying it, having it delivered, taking it to a machine shop,

Paying them to clean, resurface and replace parts… Why not have them already

Rebuilt, in stock, and ready to go?

That’s exactly what we have done!

Here is the process:

-          BENMS obtains used cylinder heads (usually with bent valves from a t-belt incident)

-          The head is torn down and steam washed to be inspected.

-          Any carbon not removed by the steam wash is soda blasted off at 60psi.

-          Any remaining gasket material is removed and surfaces are polished.

-          Warped heads are DISCARDED! We do not mill down warped heads!

-          Every head is measured for trueness of deck, and all valve guides are measured.

-          The head is then checked for cracks with a zyglo process

-          If the guides are worn, they are replaced.

-          Each valve that “looks straight” is hand rolled in a lathe with a run-out gauge to be sure.

-          New valve seals are installed.

-          Bent valves are replaced, and all valves are lapped in before being seated.

-          Some heads are prepared with light intake polishing, others have provisions for steam vents, most are kept stock.

-          Now, when someone needs a rebuilt head, we have them ready to go for less than you may think!

We currently stock 944 & 951 heads along with 944S & S2 heads.

We will also rebuild your damaged head, contact us for details and pricing!
